IU Industry Day

IU Industry Symposium on Biomedical Innovation and Translational Sciences

Venue: The AMP at 16 Tech, Indianapolis, IN

Indiana University will be hosting its inaugural Industry Symposium, sponsored by IU Research. This event will connect industry with IU researchers whose innovations and intellectual property align closely with industry needs and have the potential for real-world impact.

The event will showcase IU researchers in Biomedical Innovation and Translational Sciences who have made a significant contribution to IU’s intellectual property portfolio in addition to highlighting ongoing industry collaborations and sharing opportunities for new partnerships. To recognize these faculty, we have invited them to participate as a presenter and/or panelist during one of the three sessions:

·         Advanced Therapeutics & Biologics (therapeutics, biologics, pharmaceuticals, small molecules)

·         Diagnostics, Medical/Research Devices (medical and research devices, diagnostics, biomarkers, health IT and platforms)

·         Biotech, Bio/genetic/cell engineering, Sustainable Platforms (biotech, cell lines, enzymes, proteins, cell/gene therapies, clean tech and sustainability)

While the agenda is still being finalized, our current format of one-hour for each session includes:

·         A brief 20-minute introduction featuring the work of four researchers

·         A 40-minute panel discussion featuring IU researchers with related innovations and industry representatives who will offer insights from a market perspective

·         A networking reception allowing for researchers to connect with industry and answer questions about their work

This symposium marks the beginning of what we hope will become an annual tradition – celebrating IU researchers who help translate academic discoveries into industry-relevant solutions by disclosing and protecting their ideas and creating a forum to bridge the innovation gap between academia and industry.
